Cheapest Baby Food

Are you looking for the cheapest brand of baby food. No mother wants to admit that she is looking for the cheapest baby food. We all want to give our baby the highest quality of nutrition that our money can afford and most often that it cannot afford. What could really compare to feeding your child. Money doesn’t matter that much. I know one thing that my husband wouldn’t do for either of our kids was buy any other type of diaper than Pampers. We’d gotten a large bag of Huggies as a gift with our first child once and while diapering her a few times, the little Velcro broke away from the diaper and from that moment on, he would not have it, no matter the cost and he remained true to that until our second daughter was born and out of diapers. So I know about making sacrifices for your child. But sometimes, you have to, we have to become realistic in what we can and cannot afford to do. With baby food being so expensive these days, we have to think of ways to save money but make sure that our kids are getting the proper nutrition that he or she needs. Now here is a thought that many folks either don’t know or just think about. Most generic brand and top brands of the same item are manufactured in the same plant. Sure a lesser quality ingredient or part or supply  might be used for the generic brand, the item is still practically the same. One thing that should give a mother piece of mind though is that the generic brand of baby food was probably made on the assembly line or conveyor belt right next to the Gerber organic baby food. Maybe some of that goodness splashed and landed right into to your baby’s jar of food. That’s a joke but you get the point that maybe, just maybe all of the food is the same.

Cheapest baby food

The cheapest baby food is most likely the store brand of the store that you are shopping in. When you compare prices, it comes up the cheapest everytime. Wal-mart probably has the cheapest baby food of all brands. There are times that I’m in a close-out store like Big Lots thinking I’m getting the best price and the next I’m in Wal-mart, I might see the same item for a dollar less. One dollar is not that much but the stands that Wal-mart, although its not people’s favorite place to shop anymore, is still sporting the lowest prices around, save the Dollar Tree. Now there’s a thought, look in the Dollar Stores, i.e. the Dollar Tree. If they have baby food, no matter what the brand is, it will be for one dollar. Depending on how old your child is, the food that you are buying for the whole family may be the cheapest way to go. When my kids were babies, if I bought apples at the store for the rest of the family, I fed it to the babies. I’d just chop it up into small pieces, boil it until it was soft, add bananas or other soft fruit like peaches and grapes and feed it to the baby. That way, I didn’t add to my grocery for the week. There are several ways to be frugal about buying baby food, you just have to think outside of the box a little bit. Speaking of box, instant cereal for babies is very cheap. Also consider buying baby food in bulk to save money. Always check the expiration dates while you’re checking the price. A healthy baby is priceless!
