Cheap 80's Clothes

Ahh…the decade of innocence. Or was it? Judging by the fashion of the times, I’d say a resounding, yes! I mean how could you wear what was being worn in the eighties and have a mean or cruel or deceptive bone in your body, right? If you are looking for cheap 80's clothes, I'm aiming to help! The 80’s were a time of neon colors, headbands, lace gloves, jelly shoes (which are back), skinny ties, the valley girl lace skirt, and acid wash jeans. O.k., we’ll blame acid wash jeans on the 90’s. But the rest of the list lies squarely on the 80’s. I recently asked my husband if he remembered coca-cola sunglasses. He vaguely did, if you do, please leave a shout out in the comments section of this hub. It would do my heart good. As with every decade, a lot of the looks are back in today’s fashion. I guess what the wise man Solomon said was right, there’s nothing new under the sun, but that’s a different article. As is true also, is that a lot of the looks are not back and rightfully so. One of the coolest looks of the eighties was the up-turned collar. Today, you can turn your collar up if your outfit calls for it or if your “outing” calls for it but in the eighties, the up-turned collar was a look all its own and anyone could do it at any time with any outfit. I think Cindy Lauper work the 80’s look better than anyone although there were some pretty heavy hitters. Here’s the thing though, it didn’t take much to pull it off. You didn’t have to go to the store to buy the latest designer shirt or jeans. All you had to do was go to your closet, pull out a shirt and rip the arms off of it and turn the collar up. While there, take a pair jeans, rip them up a little bit and you were ready go. That’s a very basic look of course.

Cheap 80's Clothes

If you’re looking for the coolest 80’s looks, I have a good one for you, backwardglance.com. This site has all of the eighties classic looks. Some I’d even forgotten about were there. In fact, the site itself looks like a site from the 80’s had the internet been for public access. I hear it’s been around forever, we just didn’t know about it. May be urban legend, could be true though.  It was actually pretty difficult to find online stores that are offering 80’s clothes at a CheapDaisy price. With that said, I suggest getting more personal with your outfit shopping. Try eBay, Amazon.com and your local thrift store. Thrift stores are perfect for finding outdated clothes. I am not trying to be funny about it, I am just saying that that is one thing that you can count on finding in almost every thrift store, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s clothes and in most cases, you can go as far back as the 50’s. More of your high-end or more relevant thrift stores may switch out their inventory on a regular basis as the thrift store industry is undergoing a facelift. It has become the place for name brand, well maintained clothing items at very cheap places. And the dusty floors, digging-through-a-box, stigma is sort of going away. However, I know that you should be able to find some old school lace somewhere in some thrift store near you. Happy hunting for your cheap 80’s clothes!
